zed by IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) Chapter of IEEE Hyderabad
Section in association with IES SBCs - VNRVJIET Hyderbad\, BVRIT Narasapu
r\n\nInvited Speaker :\n\nProf. Kaushik Rajashekara\,\n\n(Member NAE\, Fel

stinguished University Professor\nUniversity of Houston\, Texas\, US\n\nAb
out Speaker:\n\nKaushik Rajashekara (Fellow\, IEEE) received the Ph.D. deg
ree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Science\, Banga
lore\, India. In 1989\, he joined the Delphi division of General Motors Co
rporation in Indianapolis\, USA\, as a Staff Project Engineer. In Delphi a
nd General Motors\, he held various lead technical and managerial position
s\, and was a Technical Fellow and the Chief Scientist for developing prop
ulsion and power electronics systems for electric\, hybrid\, and fuel cell
vehicle systems. In 2006\, he joined Rolls-Royce Corporation\, as a Chief
Technologist for electric systems for electric and hybrid aircraft system
s. In August 2012\, he joined as a Distinguished Professor of Engineering
with the University of Texas at Dallas\, TX\, USA. Since September 2016\,
he has been a Distinguished Professor of engineering in University of Hous
ton\, Houston\, TX\, USA. He has authored or coauthored over 300 papers in
international journals and conferences\, has 37 US and 15 foreign patents
\, and has written one book. He has received a number of awards including
the 2022 Global Energy Prize\, 2021 IEEE Medal on Environment & Safety Tec
hnologies and 2013 IEEE Richard Harold Kaufmann Award for his contribution
s to electrification of transportation and renewable energy. He was electe

of Indian National Academy of Engineering in 2013\, and a Member of the C
hinese Academy of Engineering in 2021\, and a Fellow of the National Acade
my of Inventors in 2015. He is also a Distinguished Alumna of Indian Insti
tute of Science. His research interests include power/energy conversion\,
transportation electrification\, renewable energy\, and microgrid systems
.\n\nDLP Talk: Data and Energy Impacts of Autonomous Vehicles and the Futu
re Trends\n\nAbstract:\n\nIntelligent Transportation systems like autonomo
us and connected autonomous vehicles(CAVs) use advanced technologies such
as sensors\, communication networks\, data analytics\, and automation to g
ather and analyze information\, make informed decisions\, enhance safety\,
and optimize the transportation infrastructure. Autonomous driving takes
serious computational power and use significant amount of data to achieve
the desired performance\, which results in increased fuel consumption in i
nternal combustion engine based vehicles leading to additional pollution o
r reduces the energy available for propulsion in electric vehicles. This
presentation discusses the convergence of Electric\, Autonomous\, and Conn
ected vehicles\; amounts of data being used\, power consumption problems i
n CAVs. The impact of the overall energy consumption on the CO2 emissions
will also be discussed. The future trends to reduce this energy consumptio
n are briefly presented.\n\nRegistration Link for PARTICIPATION as Attende
es: [Link](https://forms.gle/DxiqDemBPNiRdPuR7)\n\nRegistration Closes on:
