 formation Engineering (DEI)\, Polytechnic of Bari\n\nAbstract:\n\nAgrivolt
 aic technology—combining agriculture with photovoltaic energy generation
 —enables land to produce both food and electricity. However\, solar modu
 les can reduce sunlight for crops\, affecting yields. This talk introduces
  a novel optimization-based framework that dynamically balances crop light
  exposure and power generation. The method reformulates the complex intera
 ction between plants and panels into a convex mixed-integer optimization m
 odel with guaranteed approximation accuracy and improved computational sca
 lability Using real-world data from an agrivoltaic site in Southern Italy\
 , we demonstrate how this approach can enhance both agricultural productiv
 ity and renewable energy efficiency\, paving the way for smarter\, data-dr
 iven agrivoltaic systems.\n\nSpeaker short bio:\n\nNicola Mignoni received
  the Bachelor’s (Hons.) and Master’s (Hons.) Degree in Management Engi
 neering in July 2019 and July 2021\, respectively\, and the Ph.D. in Autom
 atic Control (Hons.\, Doctor Europaeus) in March 2025\, from Polytechnic o
 f Bari (Italy). He is currently a Research Fellow in Systems and Control E
 ngineering at the same university. His research interests include optimiza
 tion\, game theory\, and multi-agent systems\, with application to the con
 trol of sustainable energy communities. In 2024\, Dr. Mignoni was a visiti
 ng Ph.D. student at TU Delft\, the Netherlands\, and at UPC Barcelona\, Sp
 ain. He is the recipient of the 2025 IFAC TC 6.3 Young Author Publication
