DESCRIPTION:--Technical Webinar Series by IEEE Benelux Section Transportati
on Electrification Council Chapter--\n\nTopic: Turboprop Aircraft Electrif
ication - from Mild Hybridisation to Electric Propulsion\n\nSpeaker: Dr. T
ao Yang\, Full Professor\, University of Nottingham\, UK\n\nBio:\n\nDr. Ta
o Yang is a full professor of aerospace electrical systems at the Power El
ectronics\, Machines\, and Control Institute within the University of Nott
ingham\, UK\, and a leading global expert in aviation electrification. His
pioneering work in power electronic systems and high-speed motor drives f
or next-generation aircraft has led to impactful collaborations with indus
try leaders like Safran\, Leonardo Aircraft\, and Dassault Aviation. Dr. Y
ang's contributions are extensive and influential with over 120 peer-revie
wed journal and conference papers and five book chapters.\n\nDr. Yang is a
n esteemed Industrial Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and an IE
T Fellow. He is also a very active IEEE member. As the Chair of Technical
Committee on Aerospace Power in IEEE Power Electronics Society and the Ina
ugural Chair of Technical Committee on Emerging Technologies for Transport
ation in the IEEE Transportation Electrification Council\, Dr. Yang plays
a key role in shaping the future of aerospace power electronics and digita
l twinning for transportation electrification. He also contributes to indu
stry standards as an SAE AE-7M Standards Committee member.\n\nSUMMARY:\n\n
In this talk\, Dr. Yang will present the latest research advancements from
his team on aviation electrification\, with a focus on contributions with
in the EU CleanSky & Clean Aviation programme. The discussion will span cu
tting-edge developments\, from high-speed integrated motor drive systems f
or a turboprop engine mild-hybridisation to development of MW-level electr
ical propulsion. Emphasising key technological breakthroughs\, challenges\
, and future directions\, this talk will provide insights into how these i
nnovations shape the next generation of sustainable aviation.\n\nContact:
