DESCRIPTION:IOT MEETS SPACE: EXPANDING STEM HORIZONS FOR UNDERSERVED STUDEN
TS AT SELANGOR THROUGH SATELLITE PROTOTYPING\n\n- Participation: 50 studen
ts aged 15-16 yo\n\n- 14 Arduino set were given including modules to devel
op satellite prototyping and to perform connection through LoRa for IoT ap
plication\n\n- Students need to demonstrate the satellite application thro
ugh CanSat development\n\nThe event "IoT Meets Space: Expanding STEM Horiz
ons for Underserved Students at Selangor Through Satellite Prototyping" wa
s hosted by Faculty of Electrical Engineering\, Universiti Teknologi MARA
(UiTM) and partially funded by IEEE ComSoc under the TryEngineering STEM G
rant Program to facilitate local Pre-University STEM activities. The progr
am engaged 50 students aged 15-16 years at SMK Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi (1
2-13 August 2025) and SMK Seri Sepang (9-10 August 2025). Participants wer
e provided with 14 Arduino sets and modules to develop satellite prototype
s and establish connections through LoRa for IoT applications. The student
s showcased their projects through CanSat development\, demonstrating thei
r understanding of satellite applications. This hands-on event successfull
y introduced underserved students to space technology and IoT\, sparking t
heir interest in STEM fields and fostering practical skills. The program h
ighlighted the impact of IEEE ComSoc's efforts in supporting STEM educatio
n for the next generation of innovators.\n\nCenter of Foundation Studies\,
