DESCRIPTION:SCADA platforms have evolved from simple monitoring tools into
the backbone of modern industrial operations. Ignition SCADA is one of the
most powerful and flexible tools in this space. It enables engineers to c
onnect\, visualize\, and control plant processes with ease while promoting
smarter\, data-driven operations.\n\nTanuja uses Ignition every day in re
al industrial projects\, and she has seen firsthand how it simplifies engi
neering work and makes automation more approachable. This talk is designed
to be completely beginner-friendly and easy to follow for both young engi
neers and experienced professionals who want to understand how modern SCAD
A systems work in practice.\n\nThe session will start with a simple overvi
ew of what SCADA is and how Ignition differs from traditional platforms in
terms of openness\, modularity\, and ease of development. She will then w
alk through the architecture of Ignition and explain how it connects to Al
len-Bradley PLCs\, manages tags\, and enables real-time control and visual
ization.\n\nAs an example\, Tanuja will demonstrate a traffic light contro
l system built in Ignition. This example will show how the interface is de
signed within Ignition\, how components such as buttons\, indicators\, and
timers are configured\, and how each element is bound or tagged directly
to the PLC logic. Through this simple visual model\, attendees will learn
how SCADA screens communicate with PLC data and how changes on the interfa
ce translate into control actions in real time.\n\nTopics that will be cov
ered include:\n\n● Understanding SCADA and why Ignition is changing how
industries approach automation\n\n● Overview of Ignition’s modular arc
hitecture and core components\n\n● How to connect Ignition to Allen-Brad
ley PLCs and configure tags\n\n● Differences between Vision and Perspect
ive\, and when to use each\n\n● Designing HMI interfaces and binding the
m to live PLC data\n\n● Example walkthrough: traffic light control syste
m design and PLC integration\n\n● How SCADA improves plant safety\, reli
 ability\, and data transparency\n\nSpeaker(s): Tanuja Upadhyay\, \n\nAgend
