DESCRIPTION:Date & Venue:\n\nHeld at the CII Auditorium\, IEM Kolkata\, 1ST
 NOVEMBER 2025 (9AM TO 5 PM)\n\nObjective of the Event:\n\nThe main object
ive of the workshop was to inspire curiosity and creativity among pre-univ
ersity students by introducing them to the fundamentals of robotics\, elec
tronics\, and coding through hands-on learning experiences. The program ai
med to encourage school students to discover how engineering and technolog
y can solve real-world problems\, promoting early engagement with STEM edu
cation.\n\nProgram Overview:\n\nThe workshop was structured around the the
me “Discover\, Design\, and Create.” Students learned to design and bu
ild simple robots while understanding how coding\, electronics\, and mecha
nical systems come together. The session also introduced concepts of AI\,
automation\, and sensor-based robotics in an age-appropriate manner.\n\nPa
rticipants engaged in brainstorming\, collaborative teamwork\, and project
 demonstrations\, developing both technical and problem-solving skills.\n\
nParticipation Details:\n\n- Students: 100 participants from various schoo
ls across Kolkata\n- School Teachers: 10 teachers actively participated an
d guided teams\n- Parents: 7 parents attended and interacted during demons
tration sessions\n- Student Volunteers: 32 IEEE student members from IEM a
ssisted as mentors and facilitators\n\nMain STEM Topics Covered:\n\n- Robo
tics Fundamentals and Design\n- Coding and Programming (Arduino-based)\n-
Electronics and Circuits for Beginners\n- Sensor Integration and Automatio
n Concepts\n- Design Thinking and Problem-Solving\n- Teamwork\, Communicat
ion\, and Project Presentation\n- Career Awareness in STEM and Engineering
\n\nInspiration for the Program:\n\nThe initiative was inspired by the bel
ief that early exposure to STEM learning helps nurture innovation and conf
idence in young minds. As an educator and IEEE volunteer\, I wanted to cre
ate an engaging platform where school students could experience the excite
ment of hands-on robotics and understand how technology can be used for po
sitive societal impact.\n\nEvaluation of Program Success:\n\nThe success o
f the program was measured through participant engagement\, project outcom
es\, and feedback surveys.\n\n- 90% of participants reported an increased
interest in STEM subjects.\n- 82% shared that they could now see themselve
s pursuing a career in engineering or technology.\n- Students demonstrated
improved teamwork\, creativity\, and understanding of robotics concepts.\
nFeedback from teachers and parents highlighted that the workshop effectiv
ely bridged classroom learning with real-world applications.\n\nGoals Met
and Program Impact:\n\n- Introduced students to robotics\, coding\, and el
ectronic systems through hands-on learning.\n- Fostered teamwork\, creativ
ity\, and critical thinking.\n- Enhanced students’ confidence in STEM pr
oblem-solving.\n- Encouraged exploration of future engineering careers.\n\
nAcknowledgment of Support:\n\nThe event’s success was made possible thr
ough the guidance and timely support of the IEEE Kolkata Section Chair\, I
EEE EDS CHAPTER CHAIR\, IEEE MDS Chair\, IEEE WIE Chair\, IEEE Kolkata sec
tion Secretary\, Treasurer\, and other Executive Committee members. Their
cooperation in approving the proposal\, disbursing funds on time\, and pro
viding logistical support was instrumental in executing the program smooth
ly.\n\nTheir collaboration truly reflected the IEEE spirit of teamwork and
dedication to advancing STEM education at the pre-university level.\n\nCo
nclusion:\n\nThe “Robotics for Young Minds” workshop successfully enga
ged over 100 young students in interactive STEM learning\, sparking curios
ity\, innovation\, and enthusiasm for engineering. Through this IEEE TryEn
gineering-supported initiative\, we built a foundation to inspire the next
generation of thinkers\, innovators\, and engineers in our community.\n\n
