DESCRIPTION:IEEE Sensors Council Kenyatta University Chapter in collaborati
on with the the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering\, is hon
ored to host Professor Sandro Carrara from the École Polytechnique Fédé
rale de Lausanne (EPFL)\, Switzerland. Prof. Carrara—former Editor-in-Ch
ief of the IEEE Sensors Journal and recipient of the prestigious John Vig
Meritorious Service Award—is visiting Kenya for academic engagements at
JKUAT and has kindly accepted an invitation to address our students and fa
culty. His visit provides a rare opportunity for our engineering community
to interact with one of the leading global experts in sensors and bio-ele
ctronics.\n\nDuring the session\, Prof. Carrara will deliver a technical t
alk on Wearable and Implantable Sensors for Remote Monitoring of Human Hea
lth\, offering insights into cutting-edge sensor technologies\, biomedical
applications\, and current research trends in smart health monitoring sys
tems. Students will also gain exposure to opportunities within IEEE Sensor
s Council\, guidance on research and technical paper development\, and an
introduction to innovation pathways at EPFL. This engagement aims to inspi
re young engineers\, strengthen KU’s engineering capacity\, and foster i
nternational collaboration in sensors\, innovation\, and applied research.
