DESCRIPTION:In-person Event: Room 218\, New Brighton Community Center\, 6:0
0 – 8pm\nAI & Emerging Trends\n\nTopic: Cognitive RF Systems: Real-time
Learning in Dynamic RF Environments\n\nRegistration is requested to help i
n ordering sufficient pizza/beverages\n\n6:05 Registration\, Pizza Served
(TC Officers)\n\n6:25 Welcome and Updates (John Berkner)\n\n6:30 Guest S
peaker: Cognitive RF Systems: Real-time Learning in Dynamic RF Environment
s (Dr. Karen Haigh)\n\nRadio frequency (RF) environments are growing more
congested\, contested\, and complex\, impacting everything from national d
efense to medical devices. This presentation explores how artificial intel
ligence (AI) is transforming RF systems to adapt in real time to dynamic c
onditions\, novel emitters\, and unpredictable interference. By embedding
techniques like situation assessment\, decision-making\, and machine learn
ing directly into RF workflows\, we create smarter\, faster\, and more res
ilient systems.\n\nIn this talk\, I will describe how Cognitive Radio\, Co
gnitive Radar\, and Cognitive Electronic Warfare share a common AI foundat
ion\, and why this matters across domains. From tactical missions to civil
ian infrastructure\, including RF interference in critical medical systems
\, the stakes are high and the need for intelligent adaptation is urgent.\
n\nThe talk will highlight:\n\n-\n- Where and how AI functions within RF s
ystems\n- Strategies for real-time\, in-mission learning and adaptation\n-
Evaluation methods for systems that learn on the fly\n- Cross-sector rele
vance\, from military systems to civilian settings This presentation draws
from the book Cognitive Electronic Warfare: An Artificial Intelligence Ap
proach and aims to inspire engineers\, researchers\, and decision-makers a
cross defense\, healthcare\, and communications to rethink what’s possib
le when RF meets AI.\n\n7:30 Networking (Members\, Guests)\n\n7:50 Adjour
