DESCRIPTION:Lend us your senses for Sensing in the 21st Century. This onlin
e series comprises some of the most distinguished lecturers in one of the
widest technology spectrums in Society. We encourage all of your senses to
join! In IEEE we might agree with Kant when he states “All our knowledg
e begins with the senses…”!\n\nDr Beibei Wang\, Vice President Researc
h\, Origin AI\, will present Wi-Fi Can Do More: Towards Ubiquitous Wireles
s Sensing\n\nTime/Date 26th January at 18.00 - 19.00 GMT\n\nGuest Lecture
focus:\n\nAbstract\n\nThe next big deal for Wi-Fi is not about communicati
on and networking\, but sensing. Wireless Sensing technology is turning a
Wi-Fi device into a ubiquitous sensor\, which not only adds a brand new di
mension to the functions\, capabilities\, and applications of all Wi-Fi sy
stems\, but also revolutionizes how sensing\, especially human-centric sen
sing\, is practiced. Wi-Fi Sensing utilizes ambient Wi-Fi signals to analy
ze and interpret human and object movements\, underpinning many sensing ap
plications such as motion sensing\, sleep monitoring\, fall detection\, et
c. These new sensing functionalities can benefit the global Wi-Fi ecosyste
m including integrated circuit manufacturers\, device manufacturers\, syst
em integrators\, application developers\, and ultimately end users. In thi
s talk\, we introduce the concepts\, principles of Wi-Fi Sensing\, and sha
re our unique technologies that have been deployed for real-world applicat
ions. We foresee that Wi-Fi Sensing will enter billions of devices and mil
lions of homes\, creating a smarter space for a smarter life.\n\nCo-Hosts:
\n\nThe UK and Ireland Sensors Council is cooperating with the UK and Irel
and AESS\, EMBS\, Electronic Packaging and Reliability Joint Chapters and
Nano Council to organise this Distinguished Lecture on 25 November '25.\n\
nRegistration\n\nIEEE and non-IEEE Members are invited to Register and par
ticipate.\n\nIEEE Members should include their IEEE Membership Number when
registering.\n\nAccess to online Meeting\n\nRegistered participants will
be provided with the link prior to the event.\n\nSpeaker(s): Beibei Wang\,
\n\nAgenda: \n18.00-18.05. Introduction by Paul Bermingham Vice-Chair UK
