DESCRIPTION:A one-day workshop on “Assessment of Basic Aptitude and Mathe
matical Skills” was successfully conducted on 1st September 2025 for all
I B.Tech students of Sree Rama Engineering College under the banner of th
e IEEE Student Branch\, organized by the Department of Basic Sciences & Hu
manities (BS&H). The workshop recorded active participation from a total o
f 210 first-year B.Tech students\, demonstrating keen interest in strength
ening their foundational aptitude and mathematical skills\, which are esse
ntial for engineering education and professional readiness.\n\nProgram Det
ails\n\nThe workshop focused on evaluating students’ understanding of fu
ndamental concepts in aptitude and mathematics through structured assessme
nt activities. Faculty members from the Department of BS&H guided students
through various problem-solving techniques\, shortcut methods\, and logic
al approaches to handle aptitude-based questions efficiently. Interactive
sessions encouraged active participation and helped students identify thei
r strengths and areas requiring improvement.\n\nParticipation and Outcomes
\n\nAll I B.Tech students actively participated in the assessment process.
The workshop enabled students to:\n\n-\nGain awareness of the importance
of aptitude and mathematical skills in engineering education.\n\n-\nImprov
e confidence in handling quantitative and logical problems.\n\n-\nIdentify
gaps in their foundational knowledge for further improvement.\n\nFaculty
members also benefited by gaining insights into the students’ competency
levels\, which will help in planning future academic support and training
programs.\n\nConclusion\n\nThe one-day workshop on Assessment of Basic Ap
titude and Mathematical Skills proved to be highly beneficial for first-ye
ar B.Tech students. The initiative\, organized by the Department of BS&H u
nder the IEEE Student Branch of Sree Rama Engineering College\, successful
ly met its objectives by laying a strong foundation for students’ analyt
ical and mathematical skill development. Such programs play a vital role i
n enhancing students’ academic performance and overall professional prep
aredness.\n\nRamireddy Nagar\,Tirupati\, Andhra Pradesh\, India
