DESCRIPTION:. IAS CAMP 3.0 .\n\nIAS Camp 3.0 is the flagship annual event o
f our IEEE IAS Student Branch Chapter\, delivered as a fully immersive out
door camping experience. Building on the chapter's tradition of cross-comm
unity collaboration\, this edition was co-organized with our IEEE EMBS Stu
dent Chapter\, bringing together industrial applications and biomedical en
gineering under a single compelling theme. Centered on "Innovations in Med
ical Technology" the camp challenged participants to tackle real-world hea
lthcare problems through a combination of technical rigor and interdiscipl
inary creativity\, blending high-level workshops\, competitive ideation\,
team-building\, and community connection in an inspiring natural setting.\
n\nTechnical highlights and workshops :\n\nTwo in-depth technical sessions
formed the educational backbone of IAS Camp 3.0\, each designed to bridge
engineering theory with medical practice.\n\n- The first workshop offered
a deep dive into Radio Frequency (RF) systems\, exploring their pivotal r
ole in the design of modern medical devices\, wireless monitoring tools\,
and precision diagnostic equipment\n- The second session\, held under the
stars around a campfire\, traced the evolution of medical imaging technolo
gies from conventional radiography to next-generation modalities \, and ex
amined their growing clinical relevance. Both sessions drew strong engagem
ent and reinforced the camp's commitment to applied\, forward-looking tech
nical education.\n\nThe Bio-logic Ideathon :\n\nThe centrepiece of IAS Cam
p 3.0 was a medically grounded innovation competition challenging particip
ants to rethink how clinical rehabilitation translates into real-world\, h
ome-based deployment. Teams tackled four core problem areas: adherence in
home-based rehabilitation programmes\, clinical data interoperability\, pe
rsonalised decision support systems\, and accessibility in low-resource en
vironments. Crucially\, all proposals were required to be grounded in peer
-reviewed academic research rather than AI-generated narratives\, raising
the bar for intellectual rigour.\n\nNetworking and team-Building activitie
s :\nAlongside the technical programme\, a carefully curated set of recrea
tional activities ensured that community-building remained central to the
experience. A high-energy volleyball tournament and a strategic chess comp
etition brought out participants competitive spirit and encouraged cross-c
hapter interaction. The evening programme offered a different kind of chal
lenge: a late-night cooking competition that tested teams resourcefulness
and creativity under pressure\, followed by a lantern-light activity that
brought the night to a calm and memorable close.\n\nOutcomes and impact :\
nIAS Camp 3.0 participants left with deepened expertise in RF engineering
and medical imaging\, stronger cross-community relationships. More broadly
\, the event affirmed the value of interdisciplinary collaboration as a mo
del for future IEEE student initiatives\, where rigorous engineering meets
human-centred design\, and where community is as essential as curriculum.
