DESCRIPTION:The Department of CSE (Data Science)\, RNS Institute of Technol
 ogy\, organized an international seminar titled “Perception to Planning:
  Current Frontiers in AV and ITS Research” on December 06\, 2025 for 3rd
  Semester students. The session was aimed at introducing students to the e
 merging research domains in Autonomous Vehicles (AV) and Intelligent Trans
 portation Systems (ITS)\, bridging foundational concepts with current adva
 ncements in industry and academia.\n\n· To introduce students to the key 
 components of Autonomous Vehicles: perception\, prediction\, planning\, an
 d control.\n\n· To provide exposure to real-world datasets and algorithmi
 c challenges in AV research.\n\n· To highlight the role of Machine Learni
 ng\, Deep Learning\, and Sensor Fusion in modern mobility systems.\n\n· T
 o motivate students to explore research opportunities in automotive AI and
  intelligent mobility.\n\n· To align academic learning with current indus
 trial and research trends.\n\nAgenda: \nThe session covered:\n\n· fundame
 ntals of perception using camera\, LiDAR\, and radar sensors\n\n· object 
 detection\, tracking\, and scene understanding\n\n· decision-making frame
 works in AVs\n\n· planning algorithms for safe navigation\n\n· real prob
 lems in traffic systems and AV deployment\n\n· research opportunities for
  undergraduate students\n\nStudents were also shown sample datasets\, grap
 hs\, and algorithmic outputs related to perception and motion planning\, a
 s visible in the presentation slides.\n\nThe seminar concluded with an int
 eractive Q&amp;A session where students enthusiastically discussed challenges
