The Guest Speaker for this event was Mr. Sheikh Rafat Bin Ali\, CEO & Founder of Ulterior Engineering.\n\nThe purpose of this event was to giv e the participants an introduction to Building Management Systems (BMS)\, SCADA\, and Automation using IIoT systems. Mr. Rafat took the audience on an engaging journey of what BMS is and its significance\, and further intr oduced concepts such as the ASHRAE standards and BACnet protocols to real- world applications involving HVAC\, lighting\, smoke control\, and securit y systems. He also shed some light on how SCADA enhances automation throug h data visualization\, remote control\, and intelligent monitoring. The se ssion became even more lively when Mr. Rafat gave the audience a live demo nstration of how the automation system worked. He remotely controlled and monitored his lab’s equipment like showing real-time motor speed control and temperature monitoring from his mobile phone. He demonstrated how use r-friendly the interface was by letting the participants control the param eters from his phone’s dashboard. This gave the participants a glimpse i nto the future of smart buildings and IIoT-driven automation.\n\nThe semin ar wrapped up with an interactive Q&A session\, and the token of appreciat ion was presented to Mr. Sheikh Rafat Bin Ali by Mr. Mohammad Shafayet Hos sain\, Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering\, North South University\, and Faculty Co-Advisor of IEEE NSU PES SBC.
