DESCRIPTION:Abstract: Implantable microsystems are revolutionizing healthca
re by enabling continuous monitoring\, targeted therapy\, and closed-loop
interventions inside the human body. At the core of this innovation\, elec
tronics packaging ensures safe\, reliable\, and effective access to life-s
aving therapies. Miniaturization remains a major challenge\, driven by dem
ands for longevity\, power autonomy\, and regulatory constraints on changi
ng device form factors.\n\nGuided by Medtronic’s mission to contribute t
o human welfare by applying biomedical engineering to alleviate pain\, res
tore health\, and extend life\, we continue to advance packaging technolog
ies that enable devices such as cardiac monitoring devices\, pacemakers an
d defibrillators\, spinal cord and deep brain neurostimulators\, and weara
ble sensors. This talk will highlight emerging trends shaping next-generat
ion implantable systems and examine future challenges—from biocompatibil
ity and reliability to regulatory hurdles—that must be overcome to fully
realize their potential.\n\n[]\n\nBiography: Neha Patel is a Distinguishe
