DESCRIPTION:Background:\n\nIEEE Atlanta AP/MTT recently received a grant to
run RF Basic Workshops with affordable RF kits for two years. This worksh
op will serve as our kickoff workshop\, guiding young undergraduate studen
ts through usage of vector network analyzers (VNAs) with a pre-planned han
ds-on activity. The world of RF is vast and stems to various technical and
research fields. It is important to give young engineers early hands-on e
xperience and exposure to basic RF concepts.\n\nWho can participate?\n\nWe
are looking for volunteers with basic circuits/RF/wireless comms experien
ce to help lead groups of 4-6 students on how to use a vector network anal
yzer (VNA) and explain fundamental RF concepts based on our planned hands-
on activity of characterizing antennas and sensing material properties. Th
e lesson plan/guide will be provided before the activity! (This will also
help the volunteers get a RF refresher themselves.) Note\, the volunteer d
oes not have to be a member of AP-S or MTT-S to participate. (Any emag/RF/
wireless enthusiast is welcomed!)\n\nWhere and When?\n\nDate/Time: Februar
 y 25\, 2026 (Wednesday\, 6:00-8:30PM)\n\nLocation: 777 Atlantic Dr NW\, At
lanta\, GA 30332 (The HIVE Makerspace in the Van Leer Building\, School of
ECE)\n\nNote: We have arranged a dry-run meeting\, also at the HIVE Maker
space\, on Feb. 16 (Mon) for the volunteers to learn more about the nanoVN
As and go over the lesson plan. If interested in attending\, please regist
