 ay Antennas for Wireless and Satellite Communication Applications\n\nAbstr
 act:\n\nThis talk addresses the growing demand for high- throughput wirele
 ss and satellite links enabled by advanced beam-steering antennas. It high
 lights recent progress driven by silicon beamforming chipsets\, multilayer
  PCBs\, and 3D printing. The focus is on flat-panel phased-array antennas 
 and electronic beam steering using beamforming networks and commercially a
 vailable beamforming IC (BFIC) chips. Examples of X- /Ku-/Ka-band arrays w
 ith dual-linear\, dual- circular\, and polarization-reconfigurable designs
  will be presented. Key challenges-BFIC integration\, PCB fabrication\, RF
  assembly\, beamforming algorithms\, and 3D dielectric/metal printing-will
  be discussed. The talk emphasizes Ka-band throughput testing in the lab\,
  over a 1 km OTA link\, and on a 100\,000-ft Aerostar balloon payload\, co
 ncluding with future directions.\n\nBio:\nDr. Satish Kumar Sharma (IEEE Fe
 llow) earned his Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from IIT (BHU)\, India (
 1997) and B.Tech. from KNIT\, India (1991). He was a Postdoctoral Fellow a
 t the University of Manitoba (1999-2001)\, then Senior Antenna Engineer at
  IMT Corp.\, Canada (2001-2006)\, while also a part- time Research Associa
 te at Manitoba. He joined San Diego State University in 2006\, founded the
  Antenna &amp; Microwave Laboratory (AML)\, and has served as its Director\; h
 e is currently a Full Professor. He received the NSF CAREER Award (2009) a
 nd the IEEE AP-S Harold A. Wheeler Prize Paper Award (2015). He has advise
 d 110+ trainees\, published 335+ papers\, holds 3 patents\, co-edited majo
 r antenna handbooks\, and co-authored an IEEE-Press/Wiley book (2021). He 
 is an IEEE AP-S Distinguished Lecturer (2025-2027)\, AdCom member\, TC9 Ch
