DESCRIPTION:Computer simulation\, visualization\, and Artificial Intelligen
ce (AI) are becoming central to the digitalization of advanced manufacturi
ng. Together\, these technologies enable cutting-edge physics-based and da
ta-driven tools such as digital twins for real-time decision-making\, help
ing address critical challenges related to energy efficiency\, productivit
 y\, quality\, operational efficiency\, maintenance\, and beyond. These sta
te-of-the-art tools can provide both fundamental insight and practical gui
dance for process design\, troubleshooting\, optimization\, new process de
velopment and scale-up\, as well as workforce development. Through partner
ships with the steel industry and other manufacturing sectors\, the Center
for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation (CIVS) has developed
and implemented advanced digital technologies that translate research into
industrial impact. This talk will highlight key methodologies and selecte
 d project examples.\n\nSpeaker(s): Dr. Chenn Q. Zhou\, \n\nAgenda: \n5:30
