DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Student B
ranch Chapter at IIT Roorkee\, in collaboration with the Geospatial Engine
ering Branch of the Department of Civil Engineering\, IIT Roorkee\, is org
anizing the first talk under its alumni lecture series\, IITR GeoLink: An
Alumni Lecture Series. This initiative serves as an alumni networking exte
nsion of the ongoing Geospatial Lecture Series conducted by Geospatial Eng
ineering at the Department of Civil Engineering\, IIT Roorkee.\n\nIITR Geo
Link aims to strengthen alumni–student–faculty engagement by creating
a dedicated platform for interaction with distinguished alumni working acr
oss academia\, industry\, research organizations\, and policy institutions
in the geospatial and allied domains.\n\n- IITR GeoLink is envisioned as
a long-term alumni engagement initiative aimed at reconnecting students wi
th distinguished alumni working across academia\, industry\, research labs
\, and policy institutions in the geospatial and allied domains.\n- The se
ries seeks to create a sustained knowledge-sharing platform where alumni c
an share their professional journeys\, research contributions\, industry e
xperiences\, and insights on emerging technologies.\n- Through this initia
tive\, we aim to strengthen the IIT Roorkee geospatial community\, foster
mentorship opportunities\, and inspire students to explore interdisciplina
ry and impact-driven career pathways.\n\nThe inaugural talk of the series
will set the tone for future engagements by showcasing how geospatial inte
lligence\, remote sensing\, IoT\, and AI research can translate into meani
ngful real-world impact in areas such as environmental monitoring\, mobili
ty systems\, urban sustainability\, and governance.\n\nThe session is open
to students\, researchers\, faculty members\, and IEEE GRSS members inter
ested in geospatial science and technology and its evolving research and c
areer pathways.\n\nCo-sponsored by: Geospatial Engineering group IIT Roork
