DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Austrian
Chapter invites you to attend the Webinar jointly hosted by IEEE GRSS Swed
en\, Italy\, Spanish Chapters\, on “Evaluation of Multiparametric SAR Da
ta for Various Applications” by Dr. Shiv Mohan\, former senior scientist
at the Indian Space Research Organisation.\n\nAbstract:\n\nSynthetic aper
ture radar (SAR) sensors acquire high- resolution images of earth surface
even under cloudy cover conditions. The penetration capability of instrume
nt allows to see through dense or sparse vegetation or below the forest. P
enetration within a medium also allows to see below the dry sand surface.
In recent time\, SAR data is available from different satellites at a give
n frequency ranging from P band to X band. A few of the missions like NISA
R and Chandrayaan-2 provide dual frequency and polarimetric data. Thus\, a
variety of data set is available for the user community in exploring pote
ntial benefits for various applications. In this lecture\, we present resu
lts on the evaluation of multiparametric SAR data for different applicatio
 ns like soil moisture\, agriculture\, forestry\, disaster management\, lan
dcover studies and lunar water ice detection.\n\nCo-sponsored by: shailly.
 gandhi@gmail.com\n\nSpeaker(s): Dr. Mohan \n\nAgenda: \n1. Welcome\, Openi
ng Remarks and Speaker Introduction (5 minutes)\n– Introduction of IEEE
GRSS and organizing Chapter(s)\n\n3. Technical Lecture (30 minutes)\n\n4.
