DESCRIPTION:Non-terrestrial networks(NTN) are comprised of satellites-geost
 ationary equatorial orbit (GEO)\, medium-Earth orbit (MEO) and low-earth o
 rbit(LEO)-as well as high-altitude platform systems (HAPS)\, which include
  unmanned airships above 20Km\, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or drone
 s. The traditional satellite industry is being disrupted by accelerated LE
 O deployments from companies like SpaceX\, AST and others. In this talk\, 
 we describe the use cases\, challenges and the solution of the NTN systems
  and the importance of standards-based NTN solutions (Release-17 through 2
 0)\, especially for LEO based 5G NR and 6G. Further\, this presentation wi
 ll take a close look direct-to-cell communications (D-2-C) and explore its
