DESCRIPTION:Extended Reality (XR) is emerging as a transformative tool in a
dvanced manufacturing by enabling immersive\, data-driven\, and human-cent
ered production environments. This talk presents the use of Extended Reali
ty (XR)\, with an emphasis on 360? Virtual Reality (VR)\, for workforce tr
aining in advanced semiconductor manufacturing. We demonstrate how immersi
ve 360° VR environments can replicate cleanroom operations\, equipment in
teraction\, safety procedures\, and process workflows\, enabling scalable
and risk-free training for technicians and engineers. Such immersive modul
es provide experiential learning opportunities in high-cost\, high-precisi
on settings where physical training access is limited\, supporting faster
onboarding\, standardized skill development\, and improved safety awarenes
 s. Beyond training\, the talk also discusses how XR platforms can be lever
aged to enable more effective human–robot collaboration in advanced manu
facturing. Specifically\, we highlight ongoing work on integrating intenti
on detection and trajectory tracking within immersive environments to mode
l operator behavior and predict movement patterns in real time. This human
-in-the-loop framework allows robotic systems to adapt to human intent\, i
mproving coordination\, safety\, and task efficiency in collaborative manu
 facturing scenarios.\n\nSpeaker(s): \, Sara Masoud\n\nRoom: 3130\, Bldg: C
