DESCRIPTION:Goals of the Event:\n\nTo introduce students to the fundamental
concepts and real-world applications of the Internet of Things (IoT).\nTo
provide a beginner-friendly platform for understanding IoT system archite
cture and device communication.\nTo offer hands-on learning experiences th
at promote practical implementation skills.\nTo encourage innovation and t
echnical curiosity in emerging technologies.\nTo bridge the gap between th
eoretical knowledge and smart solution development.\n\nEvent Description:\
n\nThe IEEE Robotics and Automation Society SBC CEK and IEEE Industry Appl
ications Society jointly organized PROXIMA – The IoT Workshop as part of
their technical initiative to introduce students to the dynamic world of
the Internet of Things (IoT). The workshop was conducted in online mode on
  3rd\, 4th\, and 6th September 2025\, providing a beginner-friendly platfo
rm for students to explore the fundamentals and practical applications of
IoT.\n\nPROXIMA aimed to help participants understand how interconnected d
evices communicate and function intelligently in real-world scenarios. Thr
ough guided sessions and hands-on learning\, students were introduced to c
ore IoT concepts\, basic system architecture\, and practical implementatio
n strategies. The workshop emphasized experiential learning\, requiring pa
rticipants to actively engage using their computers to ensure a deeper und
erstanding of the subject.\n\nA refundable security deposit of ₹50 was c
ollected to encourage committed participation\, and certificates were prov
ided to all active participants. The workshop was also eligible for KTU Ac
tivity Points\, adding academic value to the technical exposure gained.\n\
nOverall\, PROXIMA successfully empowered students to take their first ste
ps into the world of IoT\, inspiring them to innovate\, connect ideas\, an
d build smart solutions for the future.\n\nAbout Guests and Delegates:\n\n
PROXIMA was organized jointly by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society
SBC CE Kidangoor and the IEEE Industry Applications Society SBC CE Kidango
or in online mode. The workshop witnessed the participation of 42 non-IEEE
members. The active involvement of coordinators and volunteers ensured sm
ooth execution of the sessions. Their guidance and support created an enga
ging virtual learning environment\, contributing to the overall success of
  the event\n\nVirtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/543058
