DESCRIPTION:This presentation focuses on Chapter 8 of the SE Europe Energy
Outlook 2025/2026\, providing a comprehensive overview of hydrocarbon expl
oration and production activities in Southeast Europe. It will examine the
renewed momentum in oil and gas exploration in the region amid shifting g
lobal energy policies and heightened energy security concerns. The lecture
will analyze geological potential\, licensing frameworks\, offshore devel
opments (including Eastern Mediterranean prospects)\, and the strategic ro
le of indigenous hydrocarbon resources in enhancing regional energy securi
ty. Special attention will be given to the balance between fossil fuel dev
elopment and decarbonization objectives within the broader EU energy trans
 ition context.\n\nCo-sponsored by: MAKO CIGRE\n\nSpeaker(s): Kostis \, \n\
