DESCRIPTION:Please join the IEEE Seattle EXCOM and seminar Tuesday March 10
th 6PM - 7pm Seminar and 7-8 pm EXCOM\n\nSpeach by Mr. Clint Solomon Mathi
alagan \, Winner of the Speaker award at the IEEE New Era AI Wold leaders
Summit .\n\nTitle: Reinventing Reverse Logistics\nSub-Title: How AI is Tur
ning Niche Processes into Scalable Circular Systems\n\nAbstract\nAs intell
igent commerce evolves\, reverse logistics is undergoing a fundamental tra
nsformation driven by artificial intelligence. Once viewed as a specialize
d\, low-ROI process\, it is now emerging as a data-rich domain where AI en
ables predictive\, adaptive\, and scalable decision-making. Each return tr
iggers a chain of interrelated decisions: identifying return intent\, effi
ciently routing items\, detecting fraud\, ensuring safety\, and determinin
g the optimal recovery path through resale\, refurbishment\, or recycling.
Advances in multimodal perception\, forecasting\, and optimization are ma
king what was once operationally niche\, economically scalable across indu
stries.\n\nThis talk explores how AI transforms reverse logistics into a s
 elf-learning\, circular system that unites sustainability\, safety\, and p
rofitability. By turning reactive operations into proactive intelligence n
etworks\, organizations can unlock new forms of value and participation ac
ross specialized industries\, general-purpose retail and e-commerce. We ex
amine how recent advances in foundation models\, multimodal AI\, and state
-of-the-art predictive systems enable new capabilities across the reverse
logistics lifecycle. These include models for demand and return-inflow for
ecasting\, intelligent routing and recovery optimization\, multimodal insp
ection and defect detection\, and reasoning systems that interpret policie
s and operational constraints across complex workflows.\n\nTogether\, thes
e technologies enable hybrid\, agentic architectures that combine general-
purpose reasoning with specialized predictive and optimization models. Att
endees will learn how scalable AI systems can transform reverse logistics
into an adaptive intelligence layer that improves operational efficiency w
hile supporting trust\, transparency\, and measurable circular impact acro
ss industries.\n\nBio\nClint Solomon Mathialagan is a Senior Principal App
lied Scientist at Oracle\, where he leads applied research and development
across large-scale AI systems in language\, vision\, and graph domains fo
r Pharmacovigilance. His work focuses on building adaptive\, responsible\,
and high-impact AI solutions that connect scientific rigor with operation
