DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of
the integration of optical microscopy and microfluidics\, highlighting re
cent advances in lab-on-a-chip devices for biological and chemical analysi
 s. Students will explore both traditional and advanced imaging techniques
and learn how they are applied to study and manipulate cells and other bio
logical specimens within microfluidic environments. The course will cover
both bulky\, high-performance imaging systems and compact solutions that c
an be more easily integrated into microfluidic devices. The PhD course wil
 l consist of five two-hour lectures.\n\nVia Santa Sofia\, 64\, Edificio 3\
