DESCRIPTION:Event Description\n\nThe IEEE Young Professionals Victoria Sect
ion Affinity Group is pleased to organize the F1TENTH Autonomous Racing Ch
 allenge\, a hands-on technical competition focusing on robotics\, autonomo
us systems\, and intelligent transportation technologies.\n\nThe event wil
l take place on April 1st\, 2026 (afternoon) at the ELW Building Lobby (Fi
rst Floor)\, University of Victoria.\n\nFollowing the recommendation of th
e IEEE Victoria Section leadership\, this activity is being organized as a
joint event in collaboration with multiple IEEE organizational units\, in
cluding the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Victoria Section Affinity Grou
p\, the IEEE UVic Student Branch\, and the IEEE VTS/ComSoc Victoria Sectio
n Joint Chapter.\n\nParticipants will engage in an autonomous racing chall
enge using the F1TENTH platform and demonstrate solutions related to perce
ption\, localization\, planning\, and control. The event will also feature
technical discussions and networking opportunities to foster collaboratio
n among students\, researchers\, and young professionals in the local engi
neering community.\n\nObjectives\n\n-\nPromote experiential learning in ro
botics and intelligent transportation systems\n\n-\nStrengthen collaborati
on across IEEE affinity groups and technical chapters\n\n-\nSupport studen
t-to-young-professional engagement\n\n-\nIncrease participation in IEEE te
 chnical and volunteer activities\n\nTarget Audience\n\nUndergraduate and g
raduate students\, postdoctoral researchers\, young professionals\, and IE
EE members interested in robotics\, artificial intelligence\, and vehicula
 r technologies.\n\n-------------------------------------------------------
