DESCRIPTION:The WIE LAUTECH Design Workshop 2026: Mastering Design for Inno
vation & Impact is a one-day capacity-building program aimed at equipping
engineering students with essential design skills needed to effectively co
mmunicate ideas\, build impactful projects\, and present innovative soluti
ons.\n\nIn today’s technology-driven world\, engineers require more than
just technical knowledge they must be able to visually communicate concep
ts\, develop user-centered solutions\, and present their work in compellin
g ways. This workshop addresses that gap by introducing participants to de
sign thinking\, visual communication\, branding\, and presentation design.
\n\nThe session will feature hands-on training using industry-relevant too
ls such as Canva and Figma\, enabling students to create professional flye
rs\, pitch decks\, and design prototypes. Participants will also engage in
practical exercises that encourage creativity\, problem-solving\, and col
laboration.\n\nThis initiative is organized by the IEEE Women in Engineeri
ng (WIE) LAUTECH Student Branch to empower students especially women in ST
EM with relevant digital and design skills that enhance their academic\, p
rofessional\, and entrepreneurial growth.\n\nBy the end of the workshop\,
participants will have gained practical design knowledge\, improved their
ability to present ideas effectively\, and developed skills that contribut
e to innovation and real-world impact.\n\nCo-sponsored by: IEEE Lautech St
