DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Student Chapter of QIS
College of Engineering and Technology\, in collaboration with IEEE Microw
ave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) and IEEE Robotics and Automation
Society (RAS) Student Chapters\, organized an online webinar titled “Da
ta Privacy and Security in IoT Networks” on 02 April 2026 from 6:00 PM t
o 7:30 PM. The session was delivered by Dr. Lakshmi V. S.\, Chair of IEEE
ComSoc Kerala Chapter and Assistant Professor at Sree Chitra Thirunal Coll
ege of Engineering\, Thiruvananthapuram.\n\nDuring the webinar\, the speak
er provided a comprehensive overview of the IoT ecosystem and highlighted
the increasing importance of data privacy in modern communication systems.
She explained various security threats in IoT networks and discussed esse
ntial security mechanisms such as encryption techniques and secure communi
cation protocols. The session also covered privacy-preserving techniques a
nd the challenges involved in securing IoT systems in real-world applicati
ons. Additionally\, the speaker discussed emerging trends and future direc
tions in IoT security\, offering valuable insights into advancements in se
cure communication technologies.\n\nThe webinar was highly informative and
engaging\, with active participation from students and faculty members. T
