 of STATCOM technology\, focusing on its operating principles and the prima
 ry components that enable dynamic reactive power support. It explains how 
 STATCOMs regulate voltage and support grid stability through power electro
 nics–based control. The presentation also highlights recent advancements
  in STATCOM technology\, including the integration of energy storage and g
 rid-forming capabilities\, and discusses their role in enhancing overall p
 ower system performance and stability.\n\nSpeaker Bio:\n\nAndrew Bailey is
  the FACTS &amp; HVDC product manager for Mitsubishi Electric Power Products I
 nc. (MEPPI). At MEPPI Mr. Bailey has contributed to the design\, execution
 \, and operational support of numerous Static Var Compensator (SVC)\, Stat
 ic Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM)\, High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC)\
 , and Fixed Series Capacitor (FSC) systems. He earned a Bachelor Degree in
  Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 2013 and earned a Master
  of Engineering Degree in Power Systems from Worcester Polytechnic Institu
 te in 2020. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina 
 and is an active member of IEEE Power and Energy Society and NGN member of
