s prior to the Seattle section EXCOM\n\n7:00-8:30 PM\n\nFeatured Speaker:
Dr. Sheree Wen\n\nTitle: How Can We Make the AI Data Centers' Infrastructu
re Sustainable and Benefit Both the Environment and Society?\n\nAbstract:\
n\nAI data centers are rapidly expanding and are among the most energy-int
ensive infrastructure of our time\, consuming power comparable to that of
entire cities such as Seattle or Silicon Valley. Their water consumption i
s also close to\, or even exceeds\, that of an entire city.\n\nIn some are
as of the United States\, this unprecedented demand has already led to har
monic disturbances\, power fluctuations\, and\, in extreme cases\, risks o
f grid instability.\n\nThis talk will explore and analyze the environmenta
l and energy challenges posed by AI data centers.\n\nDr. Wen will present
both near-term and long-term solutions\, including innovative approaches t
o breakthroughs in power generation\, innovative design to reduce energy c
onsumption and minimize environmental impact\, new developments in chip an
d system design\, and the enabling of sustainable\, high-performance AI in
frastructure for the future.\n\nIn addition\, recommend potential solution
s to address citizens’ concerns regarding the possible relocation of the
ir homes or businesses due to eminent domain associated with new power tra
nsmission and related infrastructure projects.\n\nDon’t miss this timely
and impactful discussion on shaping a sustainable AI-powered world.\n\nBi
