DESCRIPTION:This is a joint meeting of Canadian Society of Senior Engineers
and IEEE Life Members Affinity Groups.\n\nThis series of presentations ha
s been occurring for more than 20 years and is now being also advertised t
o the IEEE Northern Canada Section (NCS) Life Members Affinity Group (LMAG
) through vTools and other IEEE LMAG's and IEEE members depending upon the
topic. At the same time the Canadian Society of Senior Engineers (CSSE) i
s using their national organization to provide information\, the subject a
nd speaker to members across Canada.\n\nThe next meeting will be held on T
hursday\, April 16\, 2026. The meeting will open at 12:30 pm MDT (2:30pm E
astern)\, with the presentation starting at 12:45 (2:45 pm EDT).\n\nPlease
note the meeting originates in Alberta which is in the Mountain Time Zone
\, so if you are in another province you must account any necessary time s
hift.\n\nPresentation: Deep Sky and the Voluntary Carbon Dioxide Removal M
arket Part 2\n\nSummary: In last year's presentation\, Deep Sky was introd
uced and projects and ambitions were discussed. This presentation will dis
cuss progress by Deep Sky over the past year\, the state of direct air cap
ture carbon markets\, and the engineering challenges remaining for scaling
 CO2 direct air capture technologies.\n\nPresenter: Leon Sutherland\, P.En
g.\, Director of Design Engineering at Deep Sky\n\nLeon is an experienced
engineer with more than 15 years of experience designing and fabricating p
ower\, gas processing\, gas compression\, and refrigeration facilities. He
has a track record of delivering safe\, cost-saving systems with expertis
e in facility process design\, HAZOP\, and Front End Engineering Design. P
reviously\, he worked at Plasco Energy Group (now Omni Conversion Technolo
gies)\, Startec Compression and Process\, and Convrg Innovations.\n\nVirtu
