DESCRIPTION:The ConnectX Industry Visit Series is an initiative organized b
y the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Student Branch Chapter
of the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT)\, aimed at providing stu
dents with real-world industry exposure in Artificial Intelligence\, Data
Science\, and emerging technologies.\n\nThe third industry visit of the se
ries was conducted to TIQRI on 17 February 2025\, where students gained va
luable insights into how modern data-driven solutions are developed to add
ress real-world challenges. Participants were introduced to key concepts i
 n Data Engineering\, including how data is extracted\, transformed\, and l
oaded to build scalable systems that support various business use cases\,
along with the importance of selecting appropriate technologies based on c
lient requirements and scalability.\n\nStudents also gained an understandi
ng of industry expectations\, including technical competencies\, teamwork\
 , communication skills\, and adaptability in professional environments\, w
hile the sessions emphasized ethical considerations in handling data\, par
ticularly in relation to personal information and emerging AI technologies
.\n\nThrough interactive knowledge-sharing sessions conducted by industry
professionals\, participants developed a clearer understanding of real-wor
ld workflows\, project collaboration\, and career pathways in the tech ind
ustry.\n\nThe session featured knowledge sharing by industry professionals
from TIQRI\, including:\n\nMs. Shamali Weerasinghe – Associate Tech Lea
d\nMr. Ayodhya Dayananda – Associate Tech Lead\nMs. Sheron Kitchilan –
Senior Data Engineer\n\nThe visit successfully enhanced students’ aware
ness of data engineering practices and industry expectations\, while encou
raging them to build skills relevant to modern data-driven roles.\n\n[]\n\
