DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is a global affinity group
that operates across different areas\, from pre-university education to ac
ademia and the industrial sector\, with the goal of encouraging the partic
ipation and growth of women in STEM fields (Science\, Technology\, Enginee
ring\, and Mathematics). Among WIE’s initiatives\, the WIE DAY stands ou
t as an annual global celebration created to recognize the group’s role
and renew the collective commitment to innovation and the construction of
more inclusive environments.\n\nThe theme for WIE DAY 2026 is: “Technolo
gy with Purpose: Innovate Responsibly\, Inspire Globally\, Lead with Integ
rity.” In the city of Salvador\, the IEEE Women in Engineering group at
Federal University of Bahia (WIE UFBA) is responsible for organizing this
event.\n\nIn accordance with the global theme of WIE DAY\, WIE UFBA aims t
o promote an event that reinforces the importance of inclusive and innovat
ive technological development\, focusing on the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs)\, while also encouraging female leadership commi
tted to social impact. To achieve this\, the program will include 2 days o
f activities. The first day will happen in collaboration with the technica
l chapter IEEE CS UFBA\, where a workshop with the theme "Introduction to
Cybersecurity" will be held to participants of the NGO Ceifar\, that works
 promoting education\, human rights\, digital inclusion\, and more\, for c
hildren\, teenagers and families who are in vulnerable situations. With th
is activity we seek to continue strengthening IEEE Women In Engineering's
commitment to inclusion and social responsibility and show the importance
of WIE Day to achieve this goal.\n\nOur goal with WIE DAY 2026 in Salvador
is to create opportunities for people to discuss how technology can be us
ed ethically and with social purpose\, for women attending the event to fe
el more represented and encouraged to enter and remain in technology space
s\, and for all participants to leave with a broader understanding of how
technology can contribute to the SDGs and to building a fairer world. We w
ant to create a welcoming space for dialogue\, where people can share know
ledge\, exchange experiences\, and strengthen one another collectively\, i
n order to encourage community impact and social development.\n\nAgenda: \
