DESCRIPTION:Wireless communication technologies have evolved rapidly from e
arly mobile systems to advanced 5G and emerging 6G networks. Understanding
the standardization framework behind these technologies is essential for
researchers\, engineers\, and industry professionals. This work presents a
n overview of key wireless standards and organizations\, focusing on Inter
national Mobile Telecommunications (IMT)\, the 3rd Generation Partnership
Project (3GPP)\, and Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture. The study ex
plains the role of IMT in defining global mobile communication requirement
s\, the contribution of 3GPP in developing cellular standards from 3G to 5
G\, and the importance of RAN in enabling efficient wireless connectivity
between user devices and core networks. Additionally\, concepts such as sp
ectrum allocation\, network evolution\, interoperability\, and open RAN te
chnologies are discussed to simplify the understanding of modern wireless
communication systems. Overall\, the work provides a clear and concise int
roduction to the standards shaping current and future mobile networks.\n\n
