DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Houston Section Student Spotlight Series is proud to p
resent a virtual STEM talk series that celebrates student-led research\, i
nnovation\, and real-world impact. This series provides a platform for stu
dents to showcase their research and development efforts\, share technical
insights\, and inspire peers\, educators\, and industry professionals ali
ke.\n\n👉Join us on May 21\, 2026\, from 7:00–8:00 PM CST for a virtua
l presentation by Tanay Joshi\, an IEEE student member and junior at The W
oodlands High School\, who is already making impressive contributions in t
he field of next-generation communications.\n\nIn this talk\, Tanay will e
xplore how connectivity can be optimized in low-density and challenging wi
reless environments—such as rural clinics or secure offices—where trad
itional WiFi often falls short. By integrating LiFi (light-based communica
tion) with conventional wireless networks\, his system dynamically adapts
to environmental conditions to improve performance. The presentation will
cover the design approach\, experimental results\, and the broader implica
 tions for future communication infrastructure.\n\n👍Whether you’re a s
tudent\, educator\, engineer\, or simply curious about emerging technologi
es\, this talk offers an inspiring look at how young innovators are shapin
 g the future of connectivity.\n\n💡P.S. Are you a student researcher\, d
eveloper\, or innovator working on an exciting technical project? Or do yo
u know a student who is doing impactful work and would benefit from a plat
form to share it?\n\nThe IEEE Houston Section Student Spotlight Series is
always looking for future speakers—from high school\, undergraduate\, an
d graduate students—who are eager to present their research\, prototypes
\, design projects\, or early-stage ideas in a supportive and professional
environment.\n\n🎤 Virtual presentations\n🎓 Open to all technical di
sciplines\n💡 Perfect for first-time speakers and emerging researchers\n
\nIf you or someone you know is interested in presenting in this series\,
we’d love to hear from you! Reach out to us at anniedai@ieee.org to get
 involved!\n\nSpeaker(s): Tanay Joshi\n\nAgenda: \n[]\n\nVirtual: https://e
