DESCRIPTION:Towards Optical Computing and Quantum Light Generation in Lithi
 um Niobate and 2D Materials\n\n[]\n\nRelentless growth in computational de
 mand is eroding the historical divide between signal transmission and sign
 al processing. Nonlinear optics\, where strong\, deterministic interaction
 s couple optical signals together\, has long promised to bridge this divid
 e by performing computation directly in the optical domain.\n\nIn this tal
 k\, I will present recent work from our group toward enabling such technol
 ogies on two emerging platforms: thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) and 2D s
 emiconductors.\n\nFirst\, I will present a TFLN vertical-cavity architectu
 re for squeezed-light generation and parallel signal processing. I will th
 en introduce a low-temperature platform based on 2D transition metal dicha
 lcogenides\, in which quantum light is generated from a strongly interacti
 ng many-body ensemble of excitons.\n\nTogether\, these results illustrate 
 how material development and engineered photonic environments can turn non
 linear and quantum optical phenomena into practical resources for the next
