DESCRIPTION:Welcome to IEEE Seminar on "Challenges in power electronic domi
nated power systems" by Dr. Salvatore D’Arco\, Chief Research Scientist\
, SINTEF Energy Research\, Norway.\n\nHosted by IEEE Sweden PE/PEL Chapter
\n\nAbstract:\nThis seminar will introduce several ongoing research activi
ties at SINTEF related to challenges in power-electronic-dominated power s
ystems.\n\nBio of speaker:\n\nSalvatore D’Arco received the M.Sc. and Ph
.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Naples “Fed
erico II\,” Naples\, Italy\, in 2002 and 2005\, respectively.\n\nFrom 20
06 to 2007\, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of South C
arolina\, Columbia\, SC\, USA. In 2008\, he joined ASML\, Veldhoven\, the
Netherlands\, as a Power Electronics Designer consultant\, where he worked
until 2010. From 2010 to 2012\, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the D
epartment of Electric Power Engineering at the Norwegian University of Sci
ence and Technology (NTNU)\, Trondheim\, Norway. In 2012\, he joined SINTE
F Energy Research where he currently works as a Chief Research Scientist.
He is the author of more than 200 scientific papers and is the holder of o
ne patent. His main research activities are related to control and analysi
s of power-electronic conversion systems for power system applications\, i
ncluding real-time simulation and rapid prototyping of converter control s
ystems.\n\nRoom: 3412\, Teknikringen 33\, Floor 4\, Sten Velander \, Stoc
