DESCRIPTION:The workshop “Hands-on Workshop on MATLAB Simulink for Commun
ication Networks & Electronic Circuit Design”\, organized by the IEEE IE
M EDS Student Chapter in collaboration with the IEEE IEM ComSoc Student Ch
apter\, was a highly engaging technical event aimed at introducing student
s to the fundamentals and practical applications of MATLAB Simulink in com
munication engineering and electronic circuit design.\n\nThe event witness
ed the participation of approximately 60 students\, reflecting strong inte
rest in simulation-based engineering tools and modern design methodologies
. The workshop was designed to provide participants with both conceptual u
nderstanding and practical exposure to MATLAB Simulink\, one of the most w
idely used platforms for modeling\, simulation\, and analysis of engineeri
ng systems.\n\nDuring the session\, participants were introduced to MATLAB
and Simulink fundamentals\, followed by demonstrations on communication n
etwork simulation and electronic circuit design. Key topics such as signal
 generation\, modulation techniques\, communication system modeling\, elec
tronic circuit simulation\, and performance analysis were covered through
interactive examples and practical demonstrations.\n\nA major highlight of
the workshop was the hands-on implementation segment\, where participants
actively developed and analyzed simulation models under expert guidance.
The activities enabled students to bridge the gap between theoretical conc
epts and real-world engineering applications while strengthening their ana
lytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nOverall\, the workshop provided a v
aluable learning experience and successfully promoted technical excellence
\, innovation\, and practical learning. The event concluded successfully\,
leaving participants motivated to further explore MATLAB Simulink and its
applications in communication systems and electronic circuit design.\n\nS
peaker(s): Anand Mukhopadhyay\, Saumya Chaturvedi\n\nAgenda: \nThe event c
ommenced with the registration and onboarding of participants in the onlin
e session\, followed by a welcome address introducing the objectives of th
e workshop and the speaker. The technical session began with an introducti
on to MATLAB and Simulink\, covering their features\, applications\, and s
ignificance in engineering design and simulation. Participants were then g
uided through the fundamentals of communication network modeling\, includi
ng signal generation\, modulation\, transmission\, and analysis using Simu
link. Subsequently\, the session focused on electronic circuit design and
simulation\, where attendees learned to model and analyze electronic circu
its using MATLAB Simulink tools. Practical demonstrations and guided exerc
ises enabled participants to understand system behavior\, evaluate perform
ance\, and gain hands-on experience in simulation-based design. Interactiv
e discussions and doubt-clearing sessions were conducted throughout the wo
rkshop to encourage active participation and deeper understanding of the c
oncepts presented. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session\
, workshop activity briefing\, with a small activity for better understand
ing\, and a vote of thanks.\n\nVirtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/5
