DESCRIPTION:IEEE ComSoc Italy Chapter Distinguished Lecture Tour\n\nSpeaker
: Dr. Neeli Prasad (IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer)\n\nTitle of Talk:
Worlds in the Making: Crafting the Metaverse Future\n\nAbstract: The emerg
ence of the Metaverse marks a new paradigm in the evolution of connected i
ntelligence. Enabled by 6G\, artificial intelligence\, and immersive techn
ologies\, it represents a persistent\, shared virtual environment where ph
ysical\, digital\, and augmented realities converge. This talk explores ho
w the Metaverse will reshape industry\, education\, and civic engagement t
hrough real-world deployments such as Seoul’s smart city digital twin an
d BMW’s virtual factory simulations. It highlights the role of 6G networ
 ks in enabling ultra-low latency\, large-scale connectivity\, and real-tim
e data synchronization essential for these environments. Beyond technology
\, the session addresses key challenges in interoperability\, data ethics\
, and inclusivity\, emphasizing the need for transparent governance and eq
uitable access. Participants will gain a comprehensive view of how the Met
averse\, combined with intelligent infrastructure and ethical design\, can
transform global collaboration and create sustainable digital societies.\
