DESCRIPTION:The 1st cohort of the Future Networks Empowerment through Mento
rship (FNEM) will be hosted at IIIT Bangalore on 18th July 2026. FNEM Conn
ect is a meet-up that brings together 100 mentees (technological innovator
s)\, mentors\, advisors\, entrepreneurs and like-minded experts from indus
try\, investors\, academia and other institutions.\n\nThe FNEM is a global
initiative of the IEEE and the Lemelson Foundation. The event introduces
the FNEM initiative and its mission of supporting 100 mentees' technologic
al innovators\, particularly those developing hardware-based solutions wit
h potential social and economic impact.\n\nProspective mentees\, including
 innovators\, early-stage entrepreneurs\, students\, and researchers-turne
d-entrepreneurs\, will learn how they can benefit from the structured ment
orship\, technical guidance\, and ecosystem access offered through the FNE
M program.\n\nFNEM Connect is envisioned as a catalyst for building a vibr
ant community of innovators and mentors committed to advancing technology
for societal impact and strengthening India’s technological entrepreneur
ship ecosystem.\n\nObjectives\n\n- Introduce the IEEE FNEM program to ment
ees\, mentors\, academia\, industry leaders\, and ecosystem stakeholders
— highlighting its vision\, offerings\, and opportunities for technologi
cal innovators in India.\n- Connect mentors and prospective mentees throug
h a platform for interaction\, networking\, and knowledge exchange that fo
rms the foundation for future mentor–mentee engagements.\n- Launch the F
NEM mentorship journey by orienting selected participants on the program s
tructure\, expectations\, learning pathways\, and support mechanisms.\n- S
howcase innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities for hardware and tec
hnology innovators\, including technical expertise\, business guidance\, e
cosystem partnerships\, and growth opportunities.\n- Strengthen collaborat
ion across the innovation ecosystem — academia\, industry\, startups\, i
nvestors\, incubators\, and development organizations.\n- Create awareness
about resources available to innovators: mentorship\, incubation\, fundin
g\, standards development\, technology validation\, and market access.\n-
Build a community of practice for technological entrepreneurship that enco
urages continuous learning\, peer-to-peer collaboration\, and long-term en
gagement.\n- Identify and onboard potential mentees and mentors for upcomi
ng FNEM cohorts\, supporting the next generation of technology-driven entr
epreneurs and hardware innovators in India.\n\nAgenda: \nTentative Schedul
