DESCRIPTION:How can IEEE Sections turn emerging STEM education ideas into p
ractical\, repeatable programs that engage students\, activate volunteers\
, and strengthen leadership capacity?\n\nJoin this Region 5 Section Learni
ng Exchange featuring two practical educational initiatives from the IEEE
Kansas City and Oklahoma City Sections. Through brief presentations and gu
ided discussion\, participants will learn how local ideas can be developed
\, tested\, shared\, and adapted across IEEE Sections.\n\nBuilding the Fut
ure: The Kansas City Section Summer STEM Outreach Initiative\n\nKyrian Adi
mora\, IEEE Kansas City Section Educational Activities Chair\, will introd
uce the Section’s developing Summer STEM Outreach initiative. He will di
scuss the vision for engaging students\, educators\, IEEE volunteers\, and
community partners through accessible\, interactive STEM experiences.\n\n
The presentation will highlight the initiative’s current development\, e
xpected opportunities\, and practical considerations for Sections interest
ed in creating or strengthening similar summer outreach activities.\n\nThe
InfiLab Educational Model: Empowering Learners for the Future\n\nSowmya C
hintakindi of InfiLab and the IEEE Oklahoma City Section will provide an o
verview of the InfiLab educational model. She will discuss how hands-on le
 arning\, project-based experiences\, mentoring\, innovation\, and technolo
gy communication can help learners develop curiosity\, creativity\, confid
ence\, and future-ready skills.\n\nHer presentation will also explore how
elements of the InfiLab approach may be adapted by IEEE Sections\, educato
 rs\, mentors\, and community partners.\n\nParticipants Will Learn How To\n
\n- Develop practical and accessible STEM outreach initiatives\n- Connect
 students\, educators\, volunteers\, and community partners\n- Use project-
based learning and mentorship to strengthen engagement\n- Identify lessons
\, resources\, and approaches that other Sections can adapt\n- Turn emergi
ng ideas into repeatable educational and leadership practices\n- Build lea
dership capacity through collaboration and shared learning\n\nEach speaker
will provide a 15- to 20-minute presentation followed by one or two quest
ions. The emphasis is not on presenting finished programs\, but on sharing
emerging initiatives\, practical experience\, challenges\, and ideas that
can help other IEEE Sections begin without starting from scratch.\n\nThis
session supports the IEEE Region 5 Leadership Multiplier Pilot\, which ex
 plores how skillset\, mindset\, mentorship\, collaboration\, and replicati
on can strengthen volunteer vitality\, leadership continuity\, and sustain
able Section impact.\n\nIntended Audience\n\n- IEEE Section and Chapter le
 aders\n- Educational Activities volunteers\n- STEM outreach coordinators\n
 - Student Branch and Young Professional leaders\n- Educators\, mentors\, a
nd community partners\n- IEEE members interested in leadership development
and replicable outreach models\n\nCo-sponsored by: Sowmya Chintakindi\n\n
