: Kathy H. Hayashi\n\n-\nFrom Robert Colburn\, Manager of IEEE History Cen
ter:\n\nIt is my great pleasure to inform you that the IEEE Board of Direc
tors has approved the IEEE History Committee’s recommendation that your
proposal be recognized as an IEEE Milestone with the following citation:\n
\nThe Single Chip A-Series Mainframe Processor (SCAMP)\, 1987\n\nIn 1987\,
Unisys fabricated its first single-chip A-series CPU: SCAMP (Single Chip
A-series Mainframe Processor) using advanced VLSI system design\, CMOS phy
sical design\, silicon test\, and memory packaging technologies. By optimi
zing power/performance\, resilience\, scalability\, and maintainability\,
the A-series mainframe computer ran in a PC desktop form factor. Its inher
ent flexibility allowed its proprietary operating system to run alongside
UNIX\, and provided an architectural bridge to these Open Systems.\n\nhttp
s://ieeemilestones.ethw.org/Milestone-Proposal:Development_of_Single_Chip_
A-Series_Mainframe_Processor_(SCAMP)\n\nCongratulations to you and the San
Diego Section Section on this significant achievement. The approval of an
IEEE Milestone is an important recognition of the lasting impact and hist
orical significance of a technological accomplishment\, and IEEE appreciat
es the collaboration and effort that made this proposal possible.\n\nCitat
ions approved by the IEEE Board of Directors should be considered final. A
ny changes beyond minor grammatical corrections will require additional re
view and approval\, which could delay the Milestone process.\n\n-\nNew Eve
nt Initiative: IEEE SD Innovation Forum: AI in San Diego - Kathy H. Hayash
i\n\n- IEEE EPS Packaging Design and Characterization Summer School: Fund
Requested 1000$.\n\nRequest Detail in Attachment.\n\nTo close the remainin
g budget gap and ensure successful execution of the summer school\, we res
pectfully request $1\,000 in financial support from the IEEE San Diego Sec
tion.\n\nThis support will help us provide a high-quality educational expe
rience\, maintain free registration for student attendees\, and strengthen
engagement between IEEE\, local universities\, and the semiconductor indu
stry.\n\nIn addition\, we would appreciate any suggestions from the ExCom
regarding potential sponsors or additional funding sources that may be int
erested in supporting this initiative.\n\nThank you for considering this r
equest. We appreciate the Section's support and look forward to discussing
the opportunity with the ExCom.\n\n- Sponsorship/Partnership Request: Eco
NovaHacks\nDear IEEE San Diego Section Team\,\n\nMy name is Praneel Kona\,
 and I’m a high school student organizing EcoNovaHacks\, a two-day envir
onmental sustainability hackathon for high school students taking place Se
ptember 5–6 at the UCSD campus in San Diego. We’re bringing together a
round 100 ambitious high schoolers to tackle real-world sustainability cha

a hands-on opportunity to use technical problem-solving for social and env
ironmental impact. By partnering with us\, IEEE would help inspire the nex
t generation of engineers\, researchers\, and innovators while supporting
students as they build practical solutions to urgent sustainability proble

ls and our website\n• Social media recognition before\, during\, and aft
er the event\n• Direct visibility with around 100 STEM-focused high scho
ol students and their families\n• Opportunities for IEEE members to part
icipate as judges\, mentors\, or speakers\n\nWe’re a student-run event w
ith a lean budget\, and sponsorships start at $500. We’re also very open
 to non-monetary partnerships\, such as providing mentors\, judges\, speak
ers\, workshop support\, or educational materials for attendees.\n\nWould
you be open to a quick conversation about what a partnership with EcoNovaH
