 This talk will outline the characteristics of 100% clean and renewable ene
 rgy systems\, and how we can prepare for them\, considering the guidelines
  of IEEE Planet Positive. Utilities must supply critical leadership in add
 ressing climate change\, sustainability\, socioeconomic issues\, and envir
 onmental stewardship. The transition to a sustainable future requires bala
 ncing today’s short-term needs with future planning for 100% clean and r
 enewable energy systems. Issues include global collaboration\, the role of
  inverter-based resources\, climate change mitigation\, large load vs. ene
 rgy efficiency/load management and the future role of energy control cente
 rs. Supporting equity and inclusion mandates planning for rural electrific
 ation and for providing affordable power to disadvantaged communities.\n\n
