DESCRIPTION:The evolution from 5G to 5G-Advanced and\, ultimately\, 6G is r
edefining the future of intelligent transportation systems and connected m
obility. Emerging applications such as cooperative autonomous driving\, Ve
 hicle-to-Everything (V2X) communications\, digital twins\, AI-native netwo
rking\, integrated sensing and communications (ISAC)\, edge intelligence\,
and non-terrestrial networks demand communication infrastructures that de
 liver ultra-low latency\, high reliability\, massive scalability\, and per
vasive intelligence.\n\nThis Distinguished Lecture provides a comprehensiv
e overview of the architecture\, enabling technologies\, and key innovatio
ns driving the evolution from 5G to 6G networks. Particular emphasis is pl
aced on how these technologies support next-generation vehicular communica
tions\, including cooperative perception\, autonomous mobility\, smart inf
rastructure\, and intelligent transportation ecosystems.\n\nThe lecture al
so presents practical methodologies for testing and validating 5G-Advanced
and 6G networks using cloud-native\, Open RAN\, and federated testbed pla
tforms. Topics include end-to-end network experimentation\, network slicin
 g\, AI-assisted network management\, edge computing\, performance evaluati
 on\, interoperability testing\, and standards-driven validation methodolog
ies. Real-world demonstrations and deployment experiences illustrate how a
dvanced testbeds accelerate innovation while bridging the gap between rese
 arch\, standardization\, and commercial deployment.\n\nAttendees will gain
practical insights into designing\, deploying\, and validating future mob
ile networks capable of supporting reliable\, scalable\, and secure connec
ted mobility services for the next generation of intelligent transportatio
 n systems.\n\nSpeaker(s): Al-Dulaimi \, \n\nBldg: SEB 3109\, London\, Onta
