DESCRIPTION:The Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of
Electrical Engineering\, in association with the IEEE Council on Electroni
c Design Automation (CEDA) Bangalore Chapter and the Institution's Innovat
ion Council (IIC)\, SECAB Institute of Engineering and Technology\, Vijaya
pura\, jointly organized an Expert Talk on "MEP & HVAC Systems and Multipl
e Career Opportunities in Gulf Countries" on 12th July 2026 (Sunday) at 10
:00 AM in the CSE Seminar Hall.\n\nThe keynote session was delivered by Mr
. Mohammad Zakir\, an experienced Electrical Engineer based in Dubai\, hol
ding the FMP (Facility Management Professional) certification from IFMA (U
SA). Drawing upon his extensive professional experience in the Gulf region
\, the speaker provided valuable insights into the design\, execution\, op
eration\, and maintenance of Mechanical\, Electrical\, and Plumbing (MEP)
systems\, with special emphasis on Heating\, Ventilation\, and Air Conditi
oning (HVAC) technologies used in commercial\, industrial\, and residentia
l infrastructure.\n\nDuring the session\, Mr. Zakir explained the fundamen
tals of HVAC systems\, including cooling load calculations\, duct design\,
ventilation standards\, chilled water systems\, fire protection integrati
on\, Building Management Systems (BMS)\, and energy-efficient building pra
ctices. He highlighted the importance of sustainable engineering solutions
and discussed the latest technologies being adopted in smart buildings an
d modern infrastructure projects.\n\nA significant part of the talk focuse
d on career opportunities in Gulf countries\, particularly in the UAE\, Sa
udi Arabia\, Qatar\, Oman\, Bahrain\, and Kuwait. The speaker discussed th
e skills required by employers\, industry certifications\, software profic
iency (such as AutoCAD\, Revit MEP\, HAP\, and Primavera)\, interview prep
aration\, salary prospects\, and career growth in the MEP and facility man
agement sectors. He also shared practical guidance on obtaining employment
in Gulf countries\, workplace expectations\, and professional development
strategies.\n\nThe interactive session enabled students and faculty membe
rs to clarify their doubts regarding overseas employment\, higher studies\
, professional certifications\, and industry requirements. The expert enco
uraged students to strengthen their technical knowledge\, communication sk
ills\, and problem-solving abilities to enhance their global employability
.\n\nThe event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and facu
lty members of the Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering depar
tments. The program successfully bridged the gap between academic learning
and industrial practices\, providing participants with valuable exposure
to emerging career opportunities in the global engineering sector.\n\nThe
session concluded with a vote of thanks\, expressing sincere gratitude to
Mr. Mohammad Zakir for sharing his expertise and motivating students towar
ds building successful careers in the MEP and HVAC industry. The organizer
s also thanked the management of SECAB Institute of Engineering and Techno
logy\, the IEEE CEDA Bangalore Chapter\, the Institution's Innovation Coun
cil (IIC)\, faculty coordinators\, and all participants for making the eve
nt a grand success.\n\nSpeaker(s): Mohammad Zakir\n\nCSE Seminar Hall\, SE
