DESCRIPTION:2026 IEEE Student Challenge at Worldcon - From Fiction to Fact\
n\nThis competition invites participants to explore how ideas that once ap
peared only in science fiction can become real technologies\, systems\, st
andards\, and social innovations through engineering\, research\, and resp
onsible design.\n\nThe theme connects well with Worldcon because science f
iction often imagines future possibilities\, while IEEE communities help t
 urn technological possibilities into real-world systems.\n\nParticipants w
ill use large language models and AI-assisted creative tools to develop an
original storyline around a common theme. Participants will leverage gene
rative AI tools and information from the IEEE community. Participants will
then transform their storyline into a short video clip\, poster\, or comi
c-strip storyboard suitable for public display. Winning entries may be sho
wcased at the IEEE booth during Worldcon / LAcon V 2026 in Anaheim\, Calif
ornia.\n\nJoin the 2026 IEEE Student Challenge at Worldcon - From Fiction
