Nagar\, on 30 July 2026. The sessio n aimed to introduce students to the fascinating journey of medicines and vaccines—from their discovery in laboratories to reaching patients—whi le creating awareness about healthcare\, vaccination\, and the responsible use of medicines through an engaging and interactive learning experience. \n\nSession Highlights\n\nThe session covered the complete life cycle of m edicines\, beginning with research and development\, pre-clinical testing\ , clinical trials\, production\, and distribution to patients. Students we re introduced to the importance of medicines\, different systems of medici ne practiced in India\, and the three phases of clinical trials through st orytelling and real-life examples. The presentation also highlighted the h istory of vaccines through the story of Edward Jenner\, explained differen t types of vaccines\, vaccination versus immunization\, and emphasized the role of healthy practices such as hand hygiene\, vaccination\, and diseas e prevention. The concepts were presented in a simple and relatable manner \, making complex biomedical topics easy for middle-school students to und erstand.\n\nParticipant Engagement and Outcome\n\nThe outreach program wit nessed the enthusiastic participation of 95 students\, who actively engage d in interactive discussions\, quizzes\, and classroom activities througho ut the session. Students participated in a quiz on medicines\, vaccines\, and disease prevention\, followed by a hands-on activity where they arrang ed the stages in the life cycle of a medicine in the correct sequence. The interactive approach encouraged curiosity\, critical thinking\, and teamw ork while reinforcing key concepts.
