DESCRIPTION:The sixth-generation (6G) mobile communication will take advant
 age of software reconfiguration solutions/entities to develop and optimize
  a smart radio environment\, thus ensuring uninterrupted and enhanced qual
 ity of service (QoS). The deployment of reconfigurable intelligent surface
 s (RISs) can be regarded as one of such promising solutions to achieve a s
 mart radio environment.\nBy introducing the RISs into the heterogeneous ne
 tworks\, it enables multiple parallel links across different service netwo
 rks to support robust communications. Therefore\, I will revisit the vario
 us FR3-oriented (X/Ku-band) multifunctional RISs developed in my group in 
 recent years. These solutions feature wide-angle/multi-beam scanning\, pol
 arization switching\, multi-band or wideband coverage\, filtering response
 \, and so on. By tailoring their operating modes\, these RISs can lend the
