DESCRIPTION:Algeria’s forests\, covering more than 4 million hectares\, c
onstitute a natural heritage of exceptional ecological\, economic\, and so
cial value. They provide essential ecosystem services\, contribute to biod
iversity conservation\, support local livelihoods\, and play a strategic r
ole in climate regulation and environmental protection. However\, this val
uable heritage is increasingly exposed to multiple pressures\, including a
nthropogenic disturbances and the growing impacts of climate change\, whic
h contribute to forest degradation and ecosystem vulnerability.\n\nAmong t
hese threats\, forest fires remain one of the major drivers of forest cove
r loss and ecosystem degradation. Their increasing frequency and intensity
can result in significant environmental damage\, biodiversity loss\, soil
degradation\, carbon emissions\, and reduced ecosystem resilience. These
challenges highlight the urgent need for integrated approaches combining f
 orest conservation\, sustainable management\, restoration\, monitoring\, a
nd climate-change adaptation.\n\nGiven the current state and strategic imp
 ortance of Algeria’s forest heritage\, its conservation\, management\, a
nd sustainable development constitute a national priority. This requires s
trengthening scientific knowledge\, improving forest monitoring and assess
ment systems\, promoting innovative technologies\, and encouraging partici
patory approaches to forest management. Such an approach contributes to th
e implementation of national policies aimed at reconciling environmental c
onservation\, sustainable development\, and the rational use of forest res
ources within a modern and integrated national forest development framewor
k.\n\nIn this context\, the Laboratory for LRCGAEF\, in collaboration with
AAGRS and IEEE- GRSS Algeria Chapter\, is organizing the 1st Seminar of t
he National Forestry Days.\n\nCo-sponsored by: THE LABORATORY FOR THE CONS
