DESCRIPTION:Introduction – Goal\nShort Circuit\nCoordination\nArc Flash\n
Final – Tips and Tricks\n\nPower System Studies are a vital part of a we
ll-maintained electrical system. When performing the power system studies
of short circuit\, coordination\, and arc flash studies there are many err
ors that can be made that will impact the results. These errors can be fro
m lack of information modeled\, input error or lack of understanding of sy
stem operation. This talk will go through the different study applications
and identify both where these errors can occur and how to spot them durin
g a review. This talk will utilize SKM\, a power systems analysis software
\, to highlight where the errors can be made and how to spot them. This ta
lk will help both the power system engineer who is performing the studies
but also the end user to quickly validate that the results that they have
are correct. By ensuring the correct results are present the end user can
utilize the information found in the report to help improve their facility
as well as provide their workers with the information that allows them to
make informed decisions while performing tasks that expose them to an ele
 ctrical and arc flash hazard.\n\n[Potomac Testing]\n\nSpeaker(s): Kevin\n\
nAgenda: \nPLEASE MAKE NOTE OF THESE IMPORTANT NEW INSTRUCTIONS STARTING S
EPTEMBER 2026:\n\nWe will be alternating again this year between the Cragw
ood Road and Hadley Road locations. New security procedures now require ad
vanced clearance for entry to the buildings. Effective immediately\, regis
tration will close at 5PM the evening before the event. There will be no l
ate registrations permitted. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO IMPOSE ON OUR GENEROU
S HOST FOR ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY.\n\nThe seminar fee includes lunc
h\, refreshments and handouts. Non-members joining IEEE within 30 days of
the seminar will be rebated 50% of the IEEE registration charge.\n\nFour h
ours of instruction will be provided. If desired\, IEEE Continuing Educati
on Units (0.4 CEUs) will be offered for this course - a small fee of $55 w
ill be required for processing.\n\nPlease pay attention to the “Registra
tion Fee” and choose the appropriate choice either with or without CEUs.
